Back in 2013, Jem had this to say about his musical adventures :

Jem: "I can't quite decide what I do.

I play a range of instruments and have a good 12 years' experience in engineering and production... I'm also an improvising performer who loves electronics, fx, loops, laptops, video, max msp and more, although sometimes a simple acoustic guitar is enough.

Finishing my bachelor of music at NMIT Fairfield this year, so watch this space for developments!"

In 2019, after recording Insensatez in the PBGB Shed, Jem up-dated his bio as follows :

" I am now  a full time professional musician, music producer and sound engineer.  

Beyond my Bachelor of Music I completed an honours year at the Victorian College of the Arts, where I was awarded the Dr Phillip Law Music Scholarship, recognising innovation in music. I am currently a graduate researcher, working my way towards a PhD in Contemporary Music at University of Melbourne".

Busy as that might sound, Jem is also Associate Producer with the Australian Art Orchestra (a combined tech, touring and administrative role). Jem also records and mixes music at Rolling Stock Recording Rooms Collingwood, and is Sound Supervisor for the Bendigo International Festival of Exploratory Music.
