Dave Crowden, pictured at lower left of the Guitarama photo above, is a full time professional musician with a finger in many musical pies.

Dave is a teacher at Bega’s Magpie Music, an accomplished guitarist, bass player, and music mentor who is deeply embedded in the local music scene.

Dave plays bass and sings with the fabulous Figmentz, which also features Andy O’Donnell,  Ken Vatcher and John Drews. Do whatever it takes to catch a Figmentz gig – you will not be disappointed,

Dave is also the mastermind and mentor behind the absolutely brilliant Guitarama.  The website may say “under the direction of Dave Crowden’ but that ain’t the half of it. Dave conceptualised Guitarama,  put it together back in 2004, and continues to make it all happen. In doing so, Dave is introducing his students to a holistic musical experience in which they polish their playing, write songs, record in a professional environment, play gigs and also get to work with top line musicians like Dave, Ken Vatcher and Jo Fragnito. Former members of Guitarama, including Daniel Champagne, have moved along to forge their own successful musical careers. When the ‘senior’ Guitarama members finish their schooling and move on to University or whatever, Dave brings more juniors in, so the brilliant Guitarama wheel keeps rolling along. Do yourself a favour and buy all three of the Guitarama cds – they are stunning !

Dave plays in the Dave and Sam duo with son Sam – listen to them by clicking on the Dave and Sam Crowden Project on the right of your screen.

As if that is not enough, Dave plays with The O’Donnell Brothers “Best of Brothers” show band along with Andy O’Donnell and Ken Vatcher.

Plus, Dave can be seen quietly lurking at rear of stage at  Stumblin Wilburys’ gigs. It is Dave’s rock solid bass playing, along with Ken Vatcher's powerhouse drumming that  drives those Wilburies along.

Throw in Dave’s role as Director of the Cobargo Folk Festival and you will understand why Dave is one very busy pro muso !

The list goes on.  If it is music in the Bega Valley, Dave will either be in the thick of it, or just one dimension away.
